Semester 1 Final Exam Schedule

CHCCS

CHCCS High School Families,

The final exam window for semester 1 will begin on Friday, January 16, 2026 and end on Friday, January 23, 2026. Below is the testing schedule for all students:

schedule

At the start of the 2025-26 school year, CHCCS updated its high school final exam exemption opportunities. These updates include the ability for students to be exempt from final exams in courses that do not have a state-required or End-of-Course (EOC) assessment - provided they meet the criteria outlined below before the start of the exam window:

Final Exam Exemption Criteria:

  • Attendance Requirement: Students must have no more than 6 total absences (excused or unexcused) for the school year.
  • Exceptions: Absences due to school-sponsored field trips, school-approved activities, and religious holidays do not count toward the absence total.
  • Optional Participation: Students can still opt to take the final exam if they meet the exemption requirements. Exempt students who choose to take the final exam will not have their final grade negatively impacted should the exam grade be lower.

Attendance Expectations During the Testing Window:

All testing days are regular school days and attendance will be recorded as usual. For those students who do not have a final exam, there will be engaging activities planned while other students are taking their finals. Each school will send communication out to the school community about these activities before the first day of testing.

Final Exam Waiver Considerations:

The Secondary Review Committee, composed of all district high school principals, will review submitted documentation. For students with significant, documented medical concerns and/or other extenuating circumstances the family would like the committee to consider, please complete the Final Exam Waiver Request form.

  • The Final Exam Waiver Request Form is available here.
  • The form and supporting documents must be submitted in printed form to the student’s school by Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
  • Families will be notified of decisions by Monday, January 12, 2026.

Important Dates:

  • Exemption Qualification Deadline: December 19, 2025
Note: This is the last day attendance will count toward exemption.
  • Students Notified of Exemption Status: By January 16, 2026
  • Testing Window for All CHCCS High Schools: January 16 – January 23, 2026
