Counselors
Welcome to the School Counseling Department at East Chapel Hill High School
Secondary school counselors are educators uniquely trained in child and adolescent development, learning strategies, self-management and social skills who understand and promote success for today’s diverse students. They implement a comprehensive school counseling program to support students through this important developmental period. The program provides education, prevention and intervention activities, which are integrated into all aspects of students’ lives. The program teaches knowledge, attitudes and skills students need to acquire in academic, career and social/ emotional development, which serve as the foundation for future success.

Social Workers
School Social Workers play a crucial role in the CHCCS district by removing barriers to children’s academic, social and emotional success through our work with students, families, school faculty/staff, and community support agencies.
We play an integral role in the district’s efforts to close the achievement gap by supporting the most fragile students and families.
We do this through working directly with families and children, consulting and collaborating with school staff, participating on school teams, and creating connections and relationships through our outreach with community agencies and organizations.
